Q) What made you pick up this film?
I felt I wanted to showcase a world of bouncers. It's an interesting world about how these people come from their villages. On top of that, after the first pandemic hit us so badly, I felt we really need a comedy film that people can watch with their family. I wanted to make a comedy, slice-of-life film.
Q) What makes you ( Madhur Bhandarkar) works on films that throw light on subjects that are so âhard Hitting'?
I feel the kind of subjects that one creates are different from the usual works. I usually love to research, interact with people, study different genres and that refills my creative juices and makes me comes across subjects that need attention. I try my best managing to make a rare concoction of films where the man on the streets could identify with my cinema. The niche I created with my kind of cinema created a genre in itself. Cinema is a work of fiction. All I do is portray a reflection of real life on screen and my portrayal is less harsh than what really happens.
Q) What made you think of Tamannaah Bhatia as Babli Bouncer?
Tamannaah wants to explore subjects and is very hard working. She's immensely talented. I hadn't seen any of her work before casting her in Babli Bouncer. I had only seen Baahubali but that was long time backâ¦When I look at a person [actor], I look for the character. So, when she came, I thought she was the perfect one to play Babli

The film will be released over the next few months, it includes the stories of migrant workers forced to trudge back home after cities shut down, sex workers pushed further to the margins, a man trying to reach his pregnant daughter and much to the film.
