Very few fortunate among them get a chance and willpower to restart their second innings after a gap of several decades. One such inspiring example is Mrs Ritu Rajneesh Thapar. With the help of her loving family, the talented singer made a proactive name in the field of music at the age of 48. Not only did she pursue her love for singing, but she made a place for herself in this insanely competitive music industry. From starting to sing in various Music Karaoke Clubs in 2018 to giving more than 80 live stage performances in different famous Auditoriums today, Ritu Rajneesh Thapar has seen it all in just a couple of years.
The 48-year-old self-made artist has set an example by pursuing her passion for music and making a mark by shattering all myths about age and social obstacles to chase her dreams. This is the reason why Mrs Ritu Rajneesh Thapar has been announced as the winner of the Women Iconza Award 2022 as the most iconic professional singer in the Mumbai region in a glittering event that took place on 3rd march at MG Motor India, Mumbai.
The award ceremony was powered by Times Applaud in collaboration with Namaste Bahrain. The signature event of India's prestigious digital news portal is organized annually to demonstrate its commitment to upliftment and revolutionizing women's empowerment.
The occasion witnessed many well-known celebrities and socialites. Among the guest of honours were well-known social worker & people leader Ms Hruta Jeetendra Awhad & distinguished actress of the TV industry Ms Pooja Gor.
The life journey of Mrs Ritu Rajneesh Thapar has its share of twists and turns. Ritu, aka Ms Lallita Nejhawan, was introduced to music at an early age by her mother, Mrs Darshan Nejhawan. As a teenager, she participated in many singing competitions and stage shows in multiple colleges in Mumbai. In 1990, at the age of 18, she performed her 1st Live Show in Esteemed Dinanath Mangeshkar Auditorium, Vile Parle (East), in 1990 with Live Musicians of Today's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Band. In 1991 she got selected by Venus Cassettes to record five songs in Chorus with renowned singers Anuradha Paudwal and Abhijit Bhattacharya for an album. Later the music company saw a prospective singer in her. But for some unfortunate reason, Lallita, aka Ritu, could not continue her dream. She went back to her studies and completed her graduation in management from NIMMS. Later she got married in 1994.
Only after accomplishing a role of a perfect working wife and mom of two lovely kids she started feeling to fulfil her passion for singing. The encouragement and motivation came from within the family, and Ritu's entered her second innings. In 2018, She restarted as a singer from singing at various music clubs and then rose to fame. Offers piled up her to sing at live stage shows. Mrs Ritu Rajnessh Thapar even established her Youtube channel with the help of her children in just three years. And recorded songs in many styles & languages like Hindi, Marathi, Awadhi, Bhojpuri & Telegu. Presently the channel showcases more than 150 videos. She even released a few songs in collaboration with Shyama Krishna Movies Production Co. and the team. Currently, she is working on many projects for her channel as well as for other YT channels with the help of different Production Companies.
It is quite inspirational that Ritu fulfilled her dreams while continuing her job at an MNC. Her sheer determination and talent earned her accolades. She was first felicitated in the 1st Shyama Krishna International Film Festival held at Nalasopara in 2019. the same year she performed in the neighbourhood Winter Festival at Reclamation, Bandra, in December 2019. In 2020 she performed at Rotary Club's Parleshwar Food Fest Program. She was the honoured Chief Guest at the Sushil Nirmal Foundation's Vibgyor Program held at Vasai East in December 2021.
