Mallika Mehta has been making waves with her amazing lyrics and multilingual singing. The Adele of Mumbai is not only making the global charts with her fresh releases but she has also appeared on Times Square Nasdaq Billboard- the place of dreams. Mallika Mehta is one of the only Indian Indie Artist to appear on the Times Square Nasdaq Billboard.

Mallika has been singing all her life. At the age of 4 or 5, she was able to pick up lines from when her mother played the keyboard, and replay them by herself. When she began exploring and singing along to the keys, her parents realized that Mallika wasn't just babbling like a toddler, she was the real deal.

Throughout her school life, she continued to sing on different platforms and participated in her school and inter-school competitions for keyboard playing. Barely two or three years after she finished school she had already recorded her first ever original single and her solo concert, ‘Rhythm.'

She believes that her music should tell stories. When someone listens to her lyrics they should be able to empathize, connect and heal. After several hits including Kahan Hai Tu, Kaafi, Keh Bhi De, Way Too Long and Bling & Pictures Mallika is back with her latest single ‘But Tonight I Wanna Cry.'

While the beats to ‘But Tonight I Wanna Cry' may vibe more with a party, the words resonate with the emotions you feel when you are trying to get over someone and are slowly moving on. The emotional maelstrom and vulnerability after a breakup reach through Mallika's melodic voice- making you want to dance and cry all at the same time.

After working with some big names in the industry including Kailash Kher, Shankar Ehsaan, and Loy, and studying music and songwriting at Berklee College of Music, Harvard University, NYU, and Kellogg University- Mallika has been steadily gaining the recognition she deserves. She has already been featured in national and international publications like The Times of India, Red FM, Rolling Stone, and Mid Day. It is only natural for her to take the next leap on a global platform.

The emerging pop and R&B sensation has recently appeared on the Times Square Nasdaq Billboard- one of the most popular places to be in the world with global exposure and more than 40 million people visiting the spot each year.

The indie artist is not currently signed with any music label which only means each of her works has been created with her blood, sweat, and tears. She treats her singles like her own babies! From the time the vague idea of tunes and beats start formulating in her mind till the moment her final product is released- she's significantly involved in the process.

For independent indie singers like the Adele of Mumbai, marketing becomes a much more daunting task than usual. However, having studied marketing at Harvard University and Kellogg University, Mallika mostly relies on her own knowledge and social media. So, the opportunity to feature on the Nasdaq Billboard, where artists can really create an impact and build brand recognition; is unbelievable.

To think that the little girl who used to play tunes on her mother's keyboard would become a multilingual vocalist who brings lyrical stories you would want to listen to on repeat. From looking up to the great names in the music industry like Adele, Taylor Swift, Kishoreda, R D Burman, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, and so many more to having people look up to one of the most prominent spaces in Times Square- Mallika Mehta and her new single ‘But Tonight I Wanna Cry' are definitely ones to look out for!
