Mark Minard

When Mark Minard had an idea to start a business with his sister in 2007, most thought he was crazy. The idea of opening a business during the Great Recession, when companies had trouble staying afloat, and the average person living in the United States struggled to make ends meet, may have seemed a bit out of left field. Still, Mark felt determined to make it work.

The idea was to start a business helping special needs adults by providing countless opportunities, including courses and enriching activities to keep these individuals motivated while learning new things. With help from his sister, Mark opened the door to Dreamshine in 2007, and it has been booming ever since. The organization works with thousands of wonderful people each year.

"We put everything into building the business from the ground up, and it definitely paid off. We've experienced tremendous growth over the years while helping countless individuals and their families through the programs and services offered. Knowing that Dreamshine can make a difference keeps us going and gives us the motivation we need to continue expanding while offering additional programs to a broader range of clients," shared Mark. "While some were skeptical about us opening a business during the recession, we've proved that you can succeed when you love what you do and remain consistent. Of course, as business owners, we've experienced many challenges throughout the years. However, the company has managed to stay strong while providing dozens of services to our wonderful clients."

As the CEO of Dreamshine, Mark Minard knows a lot about running a successful business and being the kind of leader that employees look forward to dealing with each day. While having his share of obstacles to overcome, he's managed to tackle anything that comes his way head-on while using his past experiences to help him get through the next set of challenges. It's why he's become such a resilient leader who shares his extensive knowledge with thousands of entrepreneurial hopefuls.

"I've gained many years of experience as a business leader and want to share what I know with others who'd like to start businesses and become successful. Some people give up too easily because they don't realize they're making common yet avoidable mistakes. My goal is to teach others that the end goal isn't too far out of reach, but you've got to be willing to work for it," said Minard. "I decided to write my book, 16 Reasons Why Your Business Sucks, for those struggling in business. Just because it sucks now doesn't mean it will always be that way, but it does mean that you've got a lot to learn to get to where you'd like to be. I hope my book inspires future generations of business leaders to avoid mistakes that would hold them back from reaching attainable goals."

In addition to his audiobook now available on Audible, Mark Minard is also the host of an iTunes Top 100 podcast, Elevating Beyond, where he shares valuable insight on entrepreneurship and what it takes to succeed in business.
