Venus Sanghvi
The exhibition was launched on March 16, 2022 - just before the celebration of Holi as a festival of color and joy. The theme "Carpet of Happiness" allows people to express their joy and happiness on a canvas. The topic was chosen to demonstrate that, despite the hardships of the pandemic, nothing can prevent joy and happiness. The event has got entries from Baroda, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Mumbai etc. Each participant has painted and poured their joy into canvas in the form of beliefs, love, abstract and so on. Venus Sanghvi, an artist and curator, has interwoven multiple pieces of canvas to create a variety of rugs. These lovely carpets of various sizes are suspended from the ceiling thus creating an Installation of Joy and Happiness.
The other installation in same series was created by inverting the carpet (made out of multiple pieces of small artworks), suspended from the ceiling and a mirror on the floor combine to produce an interactive piece that allows viewers to see and move around to receive a complete view of the artwork.
Ms Venus Sanghvi is an inspiring woman, curator, visual artist, and lecturer who has teamed up with Malini Kishore Sanghvi of Commerce and Economics to create a joyous and happy art installation called "Carpet of Happiness".
