Hit upon the puzzling character Sharad Goenka portrayed by Sandeep Jayaram only on VOOT's Illegal Season 2

Released on 25th November, the series has already created a lot of buzz on various social media platforms. In Illegal Season 2, where Neha Sharma and Piyush Mishra continue to battle in and out of the court, one mysterious personality to discern is Sharad Goenka.

Portrayed by Sandeep Jayaram, Sharad Goenka is a business tycoon who is on a run after scamming the masses for 5000 crores. Leaning heavily on his strong connections and romantic liaison with Mrinalini Singh (Acchint Kaur), Sharad Goenka manages to abscond handily until events unfold unpredictably.

Something about Sandeep Jayaram is truly reminiscent of the late iconic actor Irrfan Khan. Being new to the web series sphere, Sandeep Jayaram discloses that he was originally asked to audition for the role of a bank CEO.

However, everything was hushed for a month or so. It was when Sandeep was relishing his vacation and received a call. Kavish Sinha's casting company on the other side informed him about his whistle-blower role in the same series. To which Sandeep quoted, ‘I was so thrilled that I jumped into the pool with my clothes on. Luckily, it was a private villa.'

Within a couple of hours, things got even better. He was then requested to play the role of Sharad Goenka. Sandeep giggles, ‘This time I didn't jump into the pool. Coincidentally, it was my nephew's birthday, and someone uncorked a bottle of champagne. Don't think I've enjoyed bubbly this much. Ever.'

While expressing his experience on set, Sandeep says, ‘I make no bones about being seriously proud of working in ILLEGAL 2. And that too with industry stalwarts like Acchint Kaur, Piyush Mishra and Neha Sharma.'

Heretofore, Sandeep has characterised Suneet Sachdeva, a conniving TV anchor, besides Ram Kapoor in the web series Abhay 2. He has also acted in several TV commercials with Bollywood biggies like Konkana Sen, Neena Gupta and Sharukh Khan.
