In its early stages, many doubted its potential, back when the internet was just starting to take hold and the idea of fulfilling marketing needs digitally seemed like a distant dream. However, amidst this scepticism, there was one individual, Arif Kazi, Founder of Dust Value, who saw the boundless opportunities lying ahead. With modest beginnings and unwavering determination, he set out to turn his dream into a reality. Arif succeeded in contributing to digital marketing into the force it is today through his Digital Marketing Agency, Dust Value.
A true example of resilience and determination, Arif was born and raised in the vibrant city of Mumbai. Having faced immense challenges in pursuit of his education due to financial hardships, Arif started by earning a meagre INR 900 monthly. But the hunger for excellence and responsibilities, be it for the family or the thought of inspiring other hard-working individuals within him led his path to explore the underexplored sphere, i.e. Digital Marketing. A childhood of challenges and opportunities
During his childhood days, Arif Kazi grew up in the lively neighbourhood of Bandra where he attended school at Father Agnels in Bandra. With his grandparents as his early guardians, Arif spent his childhood in their loving care until he was 12 years old when he moved in with his parents.
However, as he grew, Arif and his family faced unprecedented times. Belonging to a lower-middle-class background, with his father being a blue-collar worker, financial struggles were a constant presence in their lives, often leaving them with little to make ends meet. They had to make do with simple meals like khichdi and Ganji (rice water) to survive the last ten days of the month.
Early Professional Career Challenges
Having witnessed the struggles that his family faced, Arif promised himself to end the cycle for which he started working right after completing his 10th grade. Starting as a sales promoter for an edible oil company, Arif's determination and charm led him to earn a little income during the summer job.
This infused him with confidence to continue his studies and job parallelly. Arif hence continued his studies through correspondence while working as an electrician and learning heavy-duty wiring at his uncle's air conditioning business. Although he started earning only a meagre INR 900 a month there, he was relentless in his pursuit of crafting a better life and exploring wide-ranging opportunities.
He quickly moved to sell software at small-scale brands and was better off outperforming his targets ahead of time. Adversity however kept challenging Arif. Seeing a drastic closure of his workplace soon after his wedding, Arif faced the immense heat of meeting ends and repaying his loans. His determination to make it big in life remained unscathed with the challenging times though. In pursuit of more opportunities to be able to ward off his loans, Arif worked multiple blue-collar jobs of different scales, be it working in mail order management, distributing handbills at homes, and distributing gym advertisement leaflets, etc., with immense dedication. He ultimately made it big enough to land in the IT industry. Arif kept honing his diverse skills in sales and software over the years. Backed by his skillset, talent and sheer persistence for excellence, Arif got a job in the Middle East.
Igniting the Entrepreneurial Spirit
After spending nearly, a decade in the Middle East, Arif was earning a handsome salary and made enough investments to have a settled life even without a job. However, what was unsettling for him was his father's deteriorating health back in India. Almost instantaneously, he returned to India to ensure his father's heart surgery in his presence and to be with his parents. With the dust settled, Arif decided he wanted to lead a venture of his own, for which he learned the market deeply to understand the supply-demand ratio across industries.
On the back of his innate passion for direct marketing and seeing the mushrooming digital marketing space, Arif's entrepreneurial lifeforce came to the forefront. This was the calling that he used his software and marketing skills integrally. With a passion for direct marketing, he started Dust Value with just eight employees. Initially, it was for means of survival, but Arif's commitment to delivering quality work to clients soon turned it into a successful venture.

Money was never his primary motivator; instead, he focused on building a reputation for his company and fostering long-term relationships with clients.
