Talking about the journey of Writing The Girl I Met That Night, the journey itself was a roller coaster ride. Initially, the story was a two-page concept that was submitted to a well-known writing competition in India in 2015. The concept was rejected by the jury members in the first round itself. Since then the concept was stored in a folder on the laptop. It was in 2018, after the second book that I decided to develop this idea.

It was a risky decision as the concept was already rejected but then I knew what I wanted to write and hence in 2018 I decided to take a corporate break so that I can devote my complete time to writing this story. During the break, I even traveled to all the places mentioned in the book to give the readers a never-before cinematic experience. Finally, the book was ready for submission by early 2020 but then due to Covid 19 outbreak like other industries, even the publishing industry came to a halt. It was in the second half of 2020 when the publishers started responding but then most of the publishers rejected the manuscript but then I didn't give up. I had given three years to this story and had complete conviction in the story and knew that it will make a mark sooner or later.

Finally, in early 2021, Srishti publishers liked the manuscript, we signed the publishing contract, and then the book was published the same year in October. The journey of writing the book till the publishing was a three-year-long journey but it was totally worth it, says Zahir Chauhan.

The Girl I Met That Night, In-spite being a romance novel, also beautifully delivers a few hidden life lessons on courage, faith, and destiny which readers are falling in love with.
