From setting up Mumbai's first Pet Park in I. C. Colony & electric Pet crematorium to Mumbai's first fully equipped e-Library in a sprawling 5000 sq. ft area to Mumbai's First Fish Park and many more, BMC and ward No 1 corporate Tejasvee Abhishek Ghosalkar is painstakingly working hard to make this ward epitome of primary schemes.
As a government body, BMC continuously formulates & draws multiple development plans for all wards in Mumbai. However, the initiatives of individual corporator that helps in successful implementations of such development work in their respective wards. Going by the records, ward no 1 is progressing fast in many development works. The ward has seen many first of its kind infrastructural and tourist expansion projects that BMC has set up and with the efforts of corporator Mrs Tejasvee Abhishek Ghosalkar.
The projects described above were completed in record time. Apart from the earlier projects, many other ventures are also in the pipeline. Work has already begun on projects like underground thematic Energy Park and biggest selfie point (in terms of dimensions and size). These are all first of its kind ventures that Mumbaikars, especially residents of Ward no1, will be taking pride in.
A 300-year-old Well which also holds a traditional significance in the local east Indian Catholic community has been revived, rejuvenated and rebuilt by the extraordinary efforts of the BMC ward no.1 corporator Mrs Tejasvee Abhishek Ghosalkar.
Besides these firsts, there are many more developmental milestones that the ward has witnessed. The ward currently houses 18 Gardens which increases the green cover of the region. To conserve the ancient monumental rock remains from possible damages, Tejasvee Ghosalkar guided it to be painted as animal figurines in Zen Garden. The corporator and her team also ran an awareness programme on environmental conservation for all the park visitors.
Additionally, under the public welfare and security scheme, the ward has been allocated with a well-equipped Fire station in Kandar Pada, Dahisar west to cater to the safety and security of the local population. The ward also got a swanky BMC Swimming Pool for the residents. The same will be open to public use in 2022. Both BMC and the corporator are taking an extra step to enhance the beauty of the I. C. Colony and Kandar Pada areas. The newly constructed traffic island depicting a 4D statue of a fearless Malva of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's army near Dmart was inaugurated recently by Mumbai Mayor Smt. Kishori Tai Pednekar is a result of this vision. Also, beautifying the remaining and old traffic islands and selfie points across the length and breadth of Ward No. 1 is mostly completed.
Notably, the Shiv Sena dynamic corporator, ward no 1, Tejasvee Ghosalkar, is a passionate and engaged corporation member. She always works for the social and economic development of her ward. She reveals that as a corporator of the civic body, she is responsible for all the schemes and demands of people living in her municipal area. She has worked hard in many communities' health & sanitation programs, proper water & electricity supply to households, women empowerment, rainwater harvesting, providing urban amenities, and all government-related work.
The Manjhi Vasundhara (My earth) climate-change project (launched by the GoMAH where free fruit & tree saplings are distributed) was successfully monitored under her guidance in multiple schools, colleges and housing societies. The woman corporator has made some best uses of the corporator fund, like distributing free percolation pits to housing societies for rainwater conservation, sewing machines, and in-house flour mills machines to poor women to help them become economically independent. Around one-lakh trees were planted in the ward in the city forestation scheme.
Tejasvee Abhishek Ghosalkar has recently constructed a massive 60-seater public toilet facility in the Dahisar region and has solved power-related issues of about 2000 houses by installing an energy substation in her ward. Furthermore, Tejasvee has always been at the forefront of her people, especially during the pandemic. She distributed food relief material to the needy and actively participated in Sero-survey, medical eye & blood camps, etc., organised by BMC in ward no 1.
She has been bestowed with the Best Corporator Award with the âNavrashtra woman achiever award' in a function organized by Navbharat times last month. All this and much more make BMC's Ward No. 1 truly the Number 1 Ward under the efficient leadership of its corporator Mrs Tejasvee Abhishek Ghosalkar.
