Black and Gold A 2 artist show
Black and Gold - A 2 artist show opens at Nine Fish Gallery today, and continues till 11th December, 2021. The show can be viewed online on www.thecurators.art till 4th January, 2022. The show is also in support of Dot Line Space that works for the benefit of young artists.
Black and Gold are two strong and bold colours that offer endless possibilities. Just like the creative energy the 2 young contemporary artists being showcased in this show, Nishant Dange and Pintu Sikder.
Nishant's works are an ode to the ethereal female form, with his deft use of charcoal with acrylic. Dange enjoys the idea of being able to create beauty with just a piece of charcoal, and the medium's seamlessness lends a photographic aesthetic and dream-like quality to his paintings. Said Nishant Dange, "This is a new fresh collection, where I have focussed on the open eyes of these beautiful women. Eyes are so deep, dark and mysterious and the gaze is like its looking into our soul".
Pintu on the other hand specialises in sculptures made of brass. Using the humble brass nut as his medium, Pintu Sikder creates sculptures of amazing strength and beauty. With an amazing command over structural movement, Pintu has the ability to make a hard metal like brass move with fluidity and grace in his stunning sculptures.
Said Sapna Kar & Rajneeta Kewalramani - the Co-Founders of TheCurators.Art, a contemporary online gallery, "It's been a pleasure curating this show that celebrates the bold blacks of Nishant Dange and the golds of Pintu Sikder. Most contemporary artists develop a style and a language they work in. It defines almost all of their art and begins to be called their signature style. This show showcases the best of both these artists signature oeuvre".
Adds the representative of Dot Line Space, "Between the spectrum of Black & Gold - between the darkness that hides us and the glow in which we emerge - lies the story of our lives".
