From a banker to leading one of the country's foremost multidisciplinary design and interior architecture studios, Amardeep Gulri's journey is inspiring. He founded Deco-Arte in 2008, intending to curate and create bespoke residences that are high on aesthetics and function. It's been a few years since its inception, but along with his team of designers, architects and engineers, he has positively contributed to shaping the landscape of modern Indian homes. His home is a stunning example of his calibre.

Deco-Arte a Delhi-based award-winning design firm, is run by Amardeep and his wife Sukhmani Gulri. Sukhmani is a qualified Interior Designer and is the Creative Head of Deco-Arte. Sukhmani masters in artfully arranging and creatively utilising one's existing or new furnishings, furniture, artworks and accessories to transform any space into a stylish, revitalized and inviting space.

Sukhmani's strength is décor and home-styling whereas Amardeep is designing and identifying the business opportunity and then capitalising on it. The duo is now taking their brand Deco-Arte to another height.

Deco Arte has been awarded certain prestigious awards in the past like, "The 2021 Global Choice Awards", "Lux Life-Delhi's most outstanding multidisciplinary design studio", "ELDROK India Architecture Awards", Business Mint - "Most Prominent Interior Design Firm, Delhi NCR" and they continue to be everyone's choice.

The designers Amardeep & Sukhmani live in their 3,200sqft home on the 16th floor of a high-rise with their daughter Binaisha and beagle Rocco. The apartment enjoys stellar views of the Aravalli hills on one side and the city on the other side. Amardeep loves this blend of greenery and city lights, and for him, it's like living in the city yet away from it.

Amardeep & Sukhmani home was in process for many years; even before they got their own space, they have been collecting things over the years and putting them all together. So, when they finally acquired this apartment three years ago, they managed to curate every corner and wall with a memory attached to it.

Their home is filled with colours from artwork, upholstery, wall & décor elements. It's a place they really look forward to going at the end of a hard day. It was a dream for them to own their home, and even when they did not have it they always picked up things and knew they would find a place when they would buy their own home.

The duo says - "We enjoy this lush green view from our window, especially the one overlooking our living area and master bedroom. We agree…it's like the organic jungalow effect here. Plants are growing so beautifully, and it has a certain raw feel to it. The lush greenery instantly adds life to the interiors of their home."

The greenery of the Aravalli range, the road separating the complex and the green belt look absolutely stunning at night when the streetlights are on. Also, the city lights twinkling in the evening are an absolute delight to watch every evening.

A unique part about this home is what they fondly call ‘The Den' The look of the space has been kept raw, rustic yet classy and contemporary. It houses all the things they adore that makes it their comfort zone. A big TV screen, a well-streamed sound system, A personal bar for comfort, a comfortable couch and a lounge chair for the cozy vibe when needed.

Amardeep and Sukhmani say, "Covid has disrupted our social life like everyone else. In the past, we've hosted parties for up to 40 people, but now it's just one or two couples with their kids.

We absolutely love entertaining at home and love to take our guests around and show them our collections. It's an immense pleasure. We love to open our doors to friends and family.
