The mother-daughter team that have spearheaded Crescent Moon, an exhibition that offers non-profit organisations a platform to promote their cause, while encouraging unique ventures of women entrepreneurs from across India, are confident that the upcoming fair will be
a success.
A management graduate from Jai Hind College, 20 year-old Natasha Jain organised Goliath-events like Talaash, and an International Economic Convention, while she was still a student, and her mother Seema worked with various women's groups to organise fund-raisers. Therefore, their first exhibition last year, was a well planned and successful event, and it encouraged them to make it an annual event.
What to expect: With 75 stalls in all, this is going to be a shopping haven. Aside from the seven stalls that Seema and Natasha are sponsoring for NGOs, there are scores of others dedicated to apparel, jewellery, home accessories silverware, gift items, shoes, candles, paintings, torans, diyas, kurtis, even Venetian masks.
Buy and Buy: Renu Gupta and Natasha Dalmia's stall should draw some curious visitors since it stocks Venetian masks
(Rs 800 onwards). The gorgeous silverware at L'Artiste's stall is priced at Rs 975 onwards, and House of Bamboo's lamps and home décor items (Rs 100 onwards) offer true value-for-money.
we liked: Lamps and vases from Tardeo-based Artelier (Rs 500 onwards) and Delhi-based Glamour By Choice's gold rock candles (Rs 650 onwards). Priced at Rs 25,000 onwards, Natasha Kapoor's sarees and gowns are worth a look.
