William Shakespeare once wondered "What's in a name?" Now, a new kid on the eats block has the answer. Named after a Turkish tribe that travelled throughout the world from Iran to West Asia to Mediterranean countries assimilating various cultures and culinary styles, QashQai splendidly caters to the needs of global pros who live out of the suitcase and get bored with the same ol' Indian cuisines. After all, variety is the name of the game!
Drinks: As you enter the bar, an extensive display of world's finest liquor welcomes you. The range of cocktails, apart from a selection of classic and new age liquors, waits to intoxicate. Get into high spirits with Vodka based cocktails with mystic names Ginie's Navel, Cucu Martini and Sinful Apple (Rs 379). Or, pick from the Cleopatra's Virgin Sips range, though we partucularly recommend cool mint sip and Mediterranean fruit shake (Rs 179).
Menu: As you leaf through the menu, it's evident that enough care has been taken to decide the items. The selection reflects elite cuisines from Turkey, Lebanon, Italy, Greece and some east European and West Asian countries. Here, health freaks would love indulging in salads available in ten variants. We suggest you go for salad nicoise (Rs 269) and mille fuille. For appetisers, a must try is the polenta crusted chicken (Rs 229), cheese sambousak (Rs 229), Moroccan chicken satay (Rs 229) and a platter of assorted brushetta (Rs 199).
As you jump to main-course, order grilled cottage cheese steak (Rs 259) with mushroom pepper sauce and gratinated soft Parmesan polenta (Rs 289) served with ratatouille vegetables. Non-vegetarians can opt for Sayadieh Bi Samak (Rs 489) and Wine marinated prawns (Rs 649). Okay, sab kuchh ho gaya but meetha abhi baaki hai, mere dost. The three-layer rich chocolate mousse (Rs 149), molten chocolate cake (Rs149) and Arabic dessert Omali pudding are simply sinful.
Ambience: Ergonomically designed modern furnishing encapsulated within classical European décor pep up the dining experience of this generously spacious lounge and bar. Segregated into dining and lounge areas, the interiors of this eatery are quite upscale. The soft instrumental music in the background makes the dinner even more special. Since the place is new, it is almost vacant even in the evenings, but we're sure it'll score well with experimental urban pros on the go!
