A sub-inspector, who was suspended for laxity in investigation into the Scarlett Eden Keeling death case today again approached the High Court, pleading it to take up his petition on urgency.
The plea for urgent hearing would be heard on Tuesday by Panaji Bench of Bombay High Court.
Nerlon Albuquerque, who headed Anjuna police station on the day when Scarlett's semi-nude bruised corpse was found on the shore, had moved the court earlier challenging the state Home Ministry's order to suspend and later dismiss him from the services.
The Police Establishment Board after its inquiry had dismissed Albuquerque, who was earlier placed under suspension.
Albuquerque was suspended on March 14 and dismissed from the services on April 10, 2008.
The former SI was under immense media criticism for laxity in investigating Scarlett's death. Albuquerque had initially stated that the British teenager died due to accidental drowning.
After the deceased's mother Fiona Mackeown launched a campaign against police investigations and a second autopsy found the death as suspicious, Albuquerque was replaced by another officer of the police inspector's rank to investigate the case.
Albuquerque in his petition before the High court has said he was dismissed following the media pressure and interventions of some politicians.
The petition mentions he was not given an opportunity to depose before the investigating committee, which pronounced the order without taking his statement.
Terming the inquiry as unfair, Albuquerque, in his petition, has said he was never called for the inquiry.
