A young software engineer was killed in Noida Sector 16A after he lost balance on his bike which went into a pothole.
Amit Mishra (30) was on his way to his office when the front tyre of his bike went into a pothole opposite Apeejay School. Amit lost balance and fell on the road with his head hitting a stone.
He was rushed to the hospital with severe head injuries where doctors declared him brought dead, the police said.
An eyewitness, Nilesh Kumar, said Amit was driving holding his helmet in one hand. He said that the stretch of the road is very bad, which did not allow Amit to retain his balance after his bike hit the edge of a pothole.
Amit hailed from Patna and was residing at Pandav Nagar in Delhi.
Ironically, the Noida Authority had announced on Sunday that Rs 1200 crore would be spent on road infrastructure in the satellite town as part of preparations for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
