Suspected Taliban militants fired rockets targeting the house of North West Frontier Province Chief Minister Amir Haider Hoti in Mardan city, but no casualties were reported.
3 houses were damaged but no one was injured in the strikes in Mardan late last night, officials said today.
The rockets missed the house of Hoti, who belongs to Awami National Party of Asfandyar Wali Khan, and fell almost a kilometre away, they said.
Hoti was not in his house at the time of the attack and was in Peshawar, according to the Provincial Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain, who said, "we are facing a war like situation here."
The rockets attack on Hoti's house comes within a week of a suicide bomber blowing himself up outside the house of ANP chief Khan at Charsadda in NWFP which killed 4 people, including one of Khan's bodyguards.
