Delhi: The global financial slump has claimed another life. Depressed over the alleged loss of about Rs 30 lakh in the stock market, a 42-year-old businessman committed suicide in his west Delhi residence on Tuesday.
Anshumal Mishra, who ran the Educare Coaching Centre at Karol Bagh, was found hanging in his Rajender Nagar house.
The suicide comes two days after the arrest of two MBA students for allegedly kidnapping a teenaged boy to make up their Rs 80 lakh loss in the stock market.
Quoting Mishra's wife Madhumati, the police said he had drinks with his friends till late on Monday night before going to sleep in another room.
When Mishra did not wake up the next morning, Madhumati went to the room only to see his body hanging from the ceiling. No suicide note was recovered from him. Mishra is survived by his wife, a son and a three-year-old daughter. His friends claimed that Mishra had lost about Rs 30 lakh in the stock market.
