Govt will secure trust vote in LS
By: Agencies

New Delhi:

Unruffled by the Left decision to withdraw support to it, the government on Tuesday voiced confidence about securing a trust vote in the Lok Sabha despite the "designs" of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi told the Left parties that they should realise the "political implications" of voting with the BJP.

"We are confident that we will prove our majority on the floor of the House. The UPA has enough support from other political groups," Ravi, who has been interacting with different political parties, said.

Noting that the ruling alliance was "acutely aware" of the designs of the BJP, he alleged that the saffron party wanted to introduce the "Bellary money politics", which is playing havoc in Karnataka, at the national stage.
