Hotelier Manohar Shetty, who was allegedly shot at by his younger brother Mohan over property issues on September 8, 2007, believes his brother and mother are still plotting to kill him.

Manohar (35) claims that soon after Mohan who was arrested by MRA Marg police for attempt to murder was out on bail in October 2007, he and his associates allegedly made fresh threats. He also says that his mother Prafulla lodged a case of domestic violence against him at Bhoiwada court in May 2008.

"Mohan and my mother, are plotting to kill me," he said.  Meanwhile, the Mangalore police gave a clean chit to Manohar two weeks ago, after they found that a complaint of theft and threat filed by Prafulla in August 2007 was false.

The family dispute erupted six years after the death of his father Jaya Shetty, a former Bar Owner's Association president, who was killed by the members of the Hemant Pujari gang outside Golden Crown hotel in Nana Chowk.

Manohar regrets not objecting to Mohan's bail plea in October. He claims he was receiving threats for settling the property and for pursuing Mohan's case in the court.

MiD DAY made numerous attempt to contact Prafulla and Mohan, but could not reach them.

Their advocate Anil Parte said, "It is a false acquisition with ulterior motive to get himself exonerated from domestic violence case pending before the additional chief metropolitan magistrate's court. "As Manohar could not establish the threat made by his brother before the court, his plea to cancel Mohan's bail was rejected".
