Delhi: NRI Maya Devi, filed a FIR against a taxi driver Ranbir for attempting to rape her on Wednesday after she scolded him for being late in Gurgaon.

Maya (name changed) hired a taxi from Bajrang Taxi Service in Katterpuri, near Palam Vihar to go to Greater Kailash for a party.

Ranbir alias Monu, the driver arrived late.

Maya, whose family is in Canada scolded Ranbir for arriving late on duty. After that Maya asked Ranbir to take her to  a good eating out place. The driver suggested to take Maya to Sahara Mall.

Lonely place

According to Maya, he took her to a lonely place and tried to rape her. Maya approached nearest police station of Palam Vihar and filed FIR. 

Palam vihar police station SHO Jitesh Malhotra told MID DAY, "We have filed an FIR against Ranbir. The incident happened near their office in Katterpuri.

Maya was taken to the district court and her statement was taken in front of the magistrate.

Maya hired the taxi and was going to Sahara Mall but the driver took her to some lonely place and attempted to rape her. "  Gurgaon police have arrested Ranbir.
