I am having only nimbupani (lime water), tea and glucose during my fast unto death. This is the 'standard procedure' for fasts in India, said Sanjoy Sachdeva, state president of the Panthers Party of India, while fasting for peace in Jammu and Kashmir and restoration of the land allotted to the Amarnath Shrine board (ASB).
Sachdeva cited the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi as inspiration Behind his agitation. He said that he was fasting for the past two days and he would continue to do so till the time government does not end discrimination against the Jammu region in the state.
"The state government will have to give the land to the ASB. If it does not do so, I and my party chairman Bhim Singh, who is fasting in Jammu, will fast unto death", said Sachdeva.
Sachdeva alleged that the state government and the state intelligence agencies were not allowing his party legislators and the media to meet Bhim Singh in the name of providing him security from militants. "let them keep on trying to crush us but we will fight for our state and our people till our last breath", said Sachdeva.
