Delhi: Adding star power to the awareness campaign against garbage and graffiti at tourist spots and monuments, the Tourism Ministry is roping in actor Aamir Khan to spread the message.
The ministry has decided to make a commercial film featuring star of film 'Taare Zamin Par' Aamir Khan to further its efforts to ensure cleanliness in and around major tourist spots.
"The modalities are being worked for Khan to appear in a commercial with the theme of Keep Your City Clean. He is coming to meet Tourism Minister Ambika Soni on August 8 here to finalise the schedule," said a senior Tourism Ministry official.
Though the script has not been finlised yet, the star is expected to appeal to the audience to use dustbins and keep the city clean especially the tourist sites.
Besides him, other celebrities also likely to join the public service campaign launched by the ministry as part of a sensitisation campaign to educate and create awareness among the citizens.
