Cops in need of coordination

Stand Alone: Delhi police headquarters

As the Independence Day celebrations are approaching, a meeting of the senior police officers of several states was held at the Delhi police Headquarters on Tuesday. 

According to sources, the senior cops of the various states including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and other neighbouring states emphasised on sharing of information about the criminals and the terrorists. 

Better policing

The sharing of information and co-ordination amongst the various state police force will help in better policing and checking crime," said a senior police official.

"In the wake of the serial blasts, discussion was held on sharing the inputs which the state police receive from the Intelligence Bureau and the other agencies," the official added.

Delhi Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal, also spoke about joint combing operations at the border areas.

Sharp vigilance

There will be intensive checking and more stress on tenant verification, guesthouses, cycle sellers, chemical sellers.

The commercial vehicles entering New Delhi would be checked very carefully by the police, according to senior official in the police department, who attended the meeting.
