Delhi: Demanding a sincere probe in the car accident which killed three youngsters, Gurgaon and Delhi residents will be carrying out a silent peace march at Jantar Mantar on August 9.
Strict law
The march will be led by the parents of the victims. Talking to the Mid-Day Sumir Anand, father of Curran Anand (15), one of the accident victims, said, "We want the police, judiciary and media- to support our demand for a strict law to prevent the cases of drunken driving."
Drunk driving
Curran, Divyanshu Yadav and Siddharth Mehran - all close friends died while they were returning from a hotel in Delhi. On their way back to Gurgaon they met Tapan Pratap Malik (19). "Tapan though was heavily drunk insisted on driving the car and started driving rashly. Soon the car met with a deadly crash," Anand said.
Anand informed that the autopsy reports proved that only Malik had consumed liquor. "The guy who is responsible for the accident is out of the hospital and is driving again. There is no law to stop him from risking other's life again," Anand said.
Responsible media
He also pointed out on the media reports which claimed that every one inside the car was inebriated were false. "We talk of brining more sense of responsibility. We need to talk about media's responsibility as well. In its run for the sensation, the media started to tarnishing the image of the kids who died ,"
