Next time you hire a cheap Bangladeshi maid or servant, rest assured that the same cheap labour is available to the terrorists, who are willing to pay far more than these illegal immigrants earn. This alarming scenario is giving sleepless nights to the security agencies in India, with a series of bomb blasts rocking the major Indian cities.
Bangla connection
Intelligence agencies told MiD DAY that for carrying out the bombings in Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Surat, the Indian Mujahiddin, which has claimed responsibility for these terror attacks, used over 200 of its cadre for this mission and has a large number of Bangladeshis in its ranks.
The increasing involvement of Bangladeshis in terror activities, not only in India but also in Afghanistan and other conflict zones across the world has been a major cause for concern of investigating agencies.
Talibanisation
Recently, over 90 Bangladeshis were apprehended from the IGI airport, on their way to Afghanistan. It is believed that they were going to Afghanistan for joining the Taliban, sources in the intelligence agencies say.
The agencies said that the imprint of Bangladeshi terrorist groups, mentored by the Pakistan's Inter services Intelligence (ISI), could be seen in the low intensity blasts in Bengaluru and Ahmedabad.
"The blasts were similar to the 100 low intensity blasts that were carried out in Bangladesh in 2005. After the blasts, the Bangla authorities also defused over 300 bombs across Bangladesh," the source added.
The security agencies are also worried over the attempts of the Bangladeshi caretaker government to change the demography of areas dominated by the minorities as well as the radicalisation of the Bangladeshi society.
Security nightmare
A highly placed source in the Intelligence Bureau said, "The large influx of illegal immigrants into India from such fundamentalist societies can prove a security nightmare as then it could prove impossible for us to keep track of a large army of terrorists and hostile elements within our society. With such a neighbourhood, we should be ready for many more Surats and Jaipurs in the near future."
Radicalisation
"Bangladeshi armed forces are being used extensively by the fundamentalist organisations to cleanse the religious symbols and people from other groups," said the source about radicalisation of the Bangladeshi armed forces.
According to sources, the Bangladeshi authorities have displaced scores of Chakma and Marma tribes in the Chittagong Hill tracts to settle mainland Bangladeshis.
The Asian Centre for Human Rights (ACHR) has mentioned in its Annual report about the government orders for resettling mainland Bangladeshis.
The construction of new temples and religious places of minorities is banned in these areas. Bangladesh governmnet however refuses to dismantle its terror training facilities and catch the leaders lodged in the country.
