In what looks like a unprecedented move of sorts, Salman Khan is said to have worked out a deal with the music company and managed to retain the music rights of his film, 'Jai Ho', for himself.

Music rights of a film are usually acquired by the music company but word has it that earnings from Jai Ho’s music rights won’t be raked in by T-series in the long run. A source close to the actor says that while T-Series will release the film’s music, its rights will remain with Salman.
T-Series owner Bhushan Kumar, however, denied the news saying that it is common practice for a production house to give them the film’s music rights. “For 'Jai Ho', Sohail Khan decided to give the music rights to Salmanbhai, who has now given it to us. Nothing has changed,” he said.
