Mumbai: Night out

The premiere of Kunal Roy Kapoor's The President Is Coming was held at Fame Adlabs on Wednesday night. Several B Town couples and stars were in attendance.

Payal Rohatgi had a pretty nice purple dress on but what's with the clown makeup? Go easy lady. Manisha Koirala looked slim and sassy but here's wishing for a simpler, no-frills (literally) dress next time.

We also spotted Chandrachur Singh in circulation after a long time. Wassup dude? Imran Khan and Avantika Malik looked coochie-coo as ever. Ahh, young love...

So In Love: Avantika Malik and Imran Khan

Bapu aur Bobby

Come January and Bobby Deol will shoot with dad Dharmendra for Vijeta Films' next, directed by Sangeeth Sivan. Bobby says, "The film is about saying cheers to life.

It's an emotional film dealing with the father-son relationship but in a light-hearted way.

It's about how fathers and sons may not be happy with each other but when in a closed room they discover each other again and find how wrong they were in their thinking.

Apne was about a father's unfulfilled dreams while Sangeeth's film is more funny and emotional and more about their bond." What a daddy's boy.

Bebo's breaks

Kareena Kapoor got a break for a day before she flew to Philadelphia for Rensil D Silva's film.

She was thrilled about it. Kareena says, "Thanks to producer Sajid Nadiadwala we wound up the shoot (she was shooting with Akshay Kumar for Kambakht Ishq) a day before than what we were supposed to. And I could take my mom and Lolo (Karisma) out for lunch.

We had a fabulous time catching up. I hadn't been able to spend a whole day with them for many months and we caught up on everything, from my films to my love life."

Pep factor

Abhishek Bachchan has always been very proud of being friends with his dad Amitabh but this entire family is very close, "The comforting factor in the family always has been mom (Jaya).

She's really the anchor and someone we all run back to at the end of the day when we want to be pampered. She's truly the mother of the house.

My confidence comes from all of them not just dad, Aishwarya and my mom but also my sister (Shweta) and her family.

My family is my strength and my confidence and they all take turns in pepping me up." That must've really helped after the duds you delivered before Dostana.

Award time

Bollywood actress Kajol and filmmaker Pritish Nandy were honoured on Wednesday for their work towards educating underprivileged children by a confederation of NGOs.

"I am glad to recieve this award, but I have always felt that awards are not just the end of your journey, it's rather the beginning of your dreams." says Nandy.

Others who were conferred with the awards included Bhavna Talwar, Nitin Das, Akanksha Joshi, Ashok Kurien, Vandana Shah, Geeta Chandran, Gautam Ghosh, Ritika Sahni and Lushin Dubey. May your tribe increase!

Set appeal

There was a kal, aaj aur kal scene on the sets of Vishal Bhardwaj's Ishqiya. Vidya Balan's 80-year-old aunt had accompanied Vidya's mother and sister to the shoot in Wai.

A source on the unit reveals, "It was a sight to see the three women from three different generations interacting with each other.

Vidya's aunt, an avid hindi film buff was excited to watch the shooting of the film, as it was her first time. She was very amused by the constant call for silence on the sets."
