Last month, hitlist had reported about Ayan Mukerji putting in a good word for good friend Katrina Kaif with Karan Johar for one of his upcoming productions. So, when Kat and KJo were spotted exiting a party together on Wednesday night, it fanned speculations of a collaboration on the anvil.

Earlier, there reports about the filmmaker wishing to cast Katrina opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in a film, but the actress supposedly let go of the offer, citing date issues. Kat's refusal to do the film had apparently not gone down well with him.

Jacqueline Fernandez is now said to have bagged the project to be helmed by Tarun Mansukhani.

Interestingly, Sushant was also present at the same bash with Karan and Katrina. "She has been waiting for an opportunity to work with KJo, but somehow things haven't been working out. At the moment, she has a few offers in hand, but is yet to decide which one to take up next. Seeing them deep in discussion at the party, it looks like she will finally take up a KJo film," says a source.

Karan Johar and Katrina Kaif remained unavailable for comment.
