Amid Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai divorce, Amitabh shares his thoughts

For months it has been rumoured that actors Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are headed for a divorce. The couple has never addressed the same- either denying or confirming the news. The rumours got stronger as Aishwarya and her daughter Aaradhya were not seen with Bachchan family at several important occasions. Even on Aishwarya's birthday earlier this month, there were no social media posts from the Bachchan family including Abhishek who would otherwise regularly post for his wife. All these led to fans believing that the rumours around the separation is true. Now, Amitabh Bachchan has addressed the reports on his family doing the rounds. While he did not specifically mention Abhishek and Aishwarya, netizens seem to be convinced that senior Bachchan was addressing the divorce reports.  Amitabh Bachchan reveals why he usually does not discuss family matters Bachchan said he rarely discusses his family publicly as he believes in respecting boundaries and maintaining privacy. "It takes immense courage conviction and a sincerity to be different and believe in its presence in life .. I rarely say much about family, because that is my domain and its privacy is maintained by me," Bachchan wrote. Though the cinema veteran didn't specify in what context he was making these comments, Bachchan said information these days is not properly verified and often used strategically for commercial purposes. "Speculations are speculations .. they are speculated untruths, without verifications. Verifications are sought by the seekers to authenticate their business and commercials of the profession they be in .. I shall not challenge their desire to be in the profession of their choice .. and I shall appreciate their effort in serving society," he said. "But untruths .. or selected question marked information can be a legal safeguard for them that inform .. but the seed of suspected belief is sown with this most used emblem .. the question mark?" he added. Bachchan said any information provided with a hint of doubt is a trap for readers. "When you follow it up with a question mark, you are not only saying that the write may be questionable .. but also quite surreptitiously wanting the reader to believe and expand on it, so that your write gets valued repeats .."your content is done , not just for that one moment, but for many moments ..the reader when they react to it gives content expansion. The reaction could be in belief or in the negative ..anything that be , give credence to the write," the actor said. Bachchan, 82, also expressed a concern about the ethical implications of such practices. "Fill the World with untruth or questioned untruth and your job is over .. how it may have affected the subject individual or situation has been hand washed away from your hands .. your conscience, if ever you have one, has been overridden," he added.  (with inputs from PTI)

Why is AR Rahman getting a divorce? Lawyer says bassist Mohini Dey not connected

Music maestro AR Rahman is one of the most-loved composers in India. When he announced his separation from wife Saira Banu, fans were shocked to learn that they were ending their marriage of 29 years. The Mozart of Madras and his better half married in 1995 and share three children - Khatija, Raheema, and Ameen. The composer shared the news on his X account on Wednesday, where he stated that while they had hoped to reach their "grand thirty," life had other plans. How is Mohini Dey connected to AR Rahman? People have been speculating about the reasons for ending the marriage after so many years together. Mohini Dey, a bassist who has toured with AR Rahman for years, announced her separation from Mark Hartsuch hours after news of Rahman's separation broke. Many speculated that the two announcements were connected. However, the music composer's legal representative firmly denied any link. "There is no connection at all. Saira and Mr. Rahman made this decision independently," lawyer Vandana Shah told Republic TV.  Mohini Dey, a renowned bass player from Kolkata and a member of Gaan Bangla's Wind of Change, announced her split from her musician husband, Mark Hartsuch, via a joint Instagram post.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Mohini Dey (@dey_bass) Why are AR Rahman and his wife divorcing? Rahman and Saira have attributed their separation to "significant emotional strain" in their relationship. Lawyer Vandana Shah, in a podcast, has talked about reasons why celebrity couples opt for divorce. She mentioned that in Bollywood, it’s usually not infidelity that causes separations, but rather boredom. According to her, celebrities often go through multiple marriages, quickly moving from one relationship to another. While one-night stands are quite common, the real problem is the monotony that leads to relationship failures. Vandana stated, “Their lives are very different. I do not think infidelity is the reason for the failure of their marriages in Bollywood. The cause is boredom. They move from one marriage to another because of boredom, which is peculiar to Bollywood and super-rich families.” She pointed out that this pattern isn’t something she sees in many other types of marriages. She added, “They all live very different sexual lives. The expectations of their sex life is much higher in these setups than a non-Bollywood marriage.” She further explained, “Third, adultery happens very much and one-night stands don’t really matter as much. I am not part of Bollywood, but these are my observations from the cases that have come to me.” Saira Banu cites emotional strain as cause of divorce Saira Banu's lawyer Vandana Shah released an official statement with regards to the couple's decision to separate. The statement read, “After many years of marriage, Mrs. Saira has made the difficult decision to separate from her husband Mr. AR Rahman. This decision comes after significant emotional strain in their relationship. Despite their deep love for each other, the couple has found that the tensions and difficulties have created an insurmountable gap between them, one that neither party feels able to bridge at this time."

Abhishek Bachchan is the celebrity guest on today’s episode of the Amitabh Bachchan-hosted quiz show

Abhishek Bachchan on how being a girl dad helped with I Want to Talk’s narrative

Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan’s joint appearances are often marked by their witty banter. Things, however, took an emotional turn as the duo shot for an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, which will be aired tonight. As part of the promotions for I Want to Talk, Abhishek appeared on the quiz show along with director Shoojit Sircar and author Arjun Sen, on whose experiences the film is based. In the episode, Abhishek recounted how Sircar pitched the film to him. “Shoojit-da didn’t tell me the entire story. He only spoke about Arjun-da’s journey, and that alone left a lasting impression on me,” said the actor.  I Want to Talk tells the story of a man whose medical diagnosis alters his life journey, following which he reaches out to his estranged daughter. With the movie offering a retelling of Sen’s personal experiences, the author recalled his battle with cancer and how his daughter Raka became his motivation to emerge triumphant. “My three-year-old daughter, Raka, asked me three questions, ‘What is dying? Are you dying? Will you dance at my wedding?’ I reflexively told her that I’d dance at her wedding. Seeing her eyes light up, it became my life’s mission to be there for her,” recounted Sen on the show.  Abhishek then revealed that the movie’s profound exploration of the father-daughter relationship was the primary reason he agreed to front it. He reflected, “Aaradhya is my daughter, and Shoojit-da has two daughters. We are all dads to girls, and truly understand that emotion. What resonated with me the most was Arjun’s promise to his daughter. That unwavering commitment as a father is beyond words.”
