Ever since Imtiaz Ali expressed his wish to work with Shah Rukh Khan, rumours have flown thick and fast about the star's presence in his next. While there have been conflicting reports about their apparent collaboration, our sources say SRK has neither turned down the project or signed it yet — he has put it under serious consideration.

"He is yet to give his nod for the project. It will take some more time since he is busy with the shooting of 'Raees'," says a source.


Last year, when rumours of their collaboration had reached a crescendo, the star had reportedly said, "We are friends, and sometimes we just want to know what we are thinking, not with me in these projects necessarily. So, Imtiaz and I have done this exercise many times. We both feel that one day we will come together for a film, and if that happens, it will be very nice. I would love to work with Imtiaz.

"While Shah Rukh remained unavailable for comment, a source close to him confirms the news. "They have met a couple of times, but nothing has been finalised yet. When Shah Rukh gets a break from 'Raees' shoot, he will sit with Imtiaz for the script narration," adds the source.

If he gives his nod, it will be SRK's first film with the director, who is known for making unconventional romantic dramas that also talk about the protagonist's journey within. Talking about unconventional films, the star recently signed an Aanand L Rai film (Read more).

Wonder if working with experimental, offbeat filmmakers is a conscious decision in the wake of Dilwale's lower-than-expected box office performance.
