After tempting fate a couple of times, Sanjay Dutt has sustained a rib injury while shooting for a hardcore action scene in his comeback film, Bhoomi. An X-ray confirmed a hairline fracture, said sources close to the star.

“The action sequence, which was being filmed in Chambal, had him being attacked by a group of goons. In the midst of that scene, he felt a stabbing pain in his ribs and popped a painkiller for relief. He continued the shoot, but the pain only grew worse,” an insider reveals.

Finally, Dutt decided to make a quick visit to a local hospital and get an X-ray done. “The doctor confirmed a hairline fracture. He is on medication and has been advised complete rest. However, he is eager to wrap up the shoot by the month-end,” the source adds.

Earlier this month, mid-day had reported how Dutt had suffered a minor bruise on his head after hitting a pole. The actor took a few hours off shoot to rest. A doctor was brought on set for a quick check-up. Dutt was later taken to a local hospital to get a few tests done.
