Sanjay Dutt has been forthright when discussing his drug addiction, a phase he calls his darkest after he lost his mother, Nargis Dutt, to cancer. Playing role model, Dutt is now set to collaborate with the government to set up de-addiction centres across the country.

"We plan to open centres to help people fight the menace of drugs. I am in talks with the government; the approvals are yet to come through. All details will be finalised once we get necessary permissions. We need to offer effective facilities and counselling help," Dutt says.

Awareness, he thinks, is key to winning the battle, and his star status could come handy. "I could opt for [expensive de-addiction] treatment and rehab in America because my family could afford it. Not everyone can. The idea is to provide affordable facilities for people right here," he added.

Dutt's professional graph is also looking up. He has wrapped up the shoot for his comeback film, Bhoomi. Speaking of facing the camera after close to three years, he said, "On the first day, I was nervous, but that was only for the first scene. After that, I was pretty comfortable. I chose the film because I wish to now entertain the audience. Besides, Bhoomi carries a strong message. It was an emotional experience."
