Yesterday, the upcoming Raveena Tandon-starrer Maatr was finally cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The censor folk had earlier refused certification to the film based on the issue of rape. Objections had been raised about the use of cuss words and a brutal scene.
Instead of taking the film to the Revising Committee, producer Anjum Rizvi submitted Maatr again to the CBFC by reducing the 13-minute brutal scene to four minutes and expunged the cuss words too. This paves the way for Maatr's release tomorrow.
